What operating systems will run on PowerPC-based Amigas?

There are several operating systems currently available or in development for the PPC-based Amiga.
AmigaOS 3.9 AmigaOS 3.5 & 3.9
Availability: Available now!
The official AmigaOS upgrades provide limited support for PPC boards. Although it is not possible to boot into the PPC directly, the OS upgrades provide significant speed boosts in general operation.

AmigaOS4.0 AmigaOS 4.0
Availability: Summer 2001
An official port of the AmigaOS for PowerPC hardware. Aimed at the desktop and server market. Read more.
AROS Amiga Research Operating System
Availability: Available now!
An Amiga PPC port of AROS is available but requires optimisation to the Amiga PPC boards. The source code is freely available for anyone who wants to modify it.

Linux APUS Linux/APUS
Availability: Available now!
Linux is the darling of obsolete or unpopular machines. Thanks to the freely available source code of the OS, there are versions available for the C64, BBC Micro, Atari ST, Macintosh, Amiga 68k, and now Amiga PPC. Linux/APUS is a port of the LinuxPPC project, providing binary compatibility with other PPC Linux ports currently available & includes applications precompiled for Linux/PPC. Read more.
Apple MacOS
Availability: Available now!
The impending release of Fusion PPC will allow Amiga owners to emulate their Macintosh equivalent. This will allow the use of MacOS 8, 9, & 10 as they were intended - Power to the People!
MorphOS MorphOS
Availability: The OS is been available as a beta version
MorphOS is the most popular Amiga PPC operating system available. It is also the only Amiga-native OS that combines the look and feel of AmigaOS, with a clean PPC-native API. The OS is compatible with PowerUP binaries, 68k & WarpOS emulation are under continuous development. Read more.
PowerOS PowerOS
Availability: Early 2001
PowerOS is an Amiga-native operating system currently in development. It promises compatibility with Amiga titles through the implementation of an Amiga 68k and WarpOS PPC emulator. It has not been seen by anyone outside the development team, it could possibly be cancelled or a fake. Read more.
QNX QNX for PowerUP
Availability: Never
In 1999 QSSL and Phase5 announced a strategic partnership aimed at developing an Amiga G4 board and releasing the Neutrino OS for the Amiga. After Phase5's liquidation QSSL cancelled the Amiga port. Read more.
Screens Screens
Availability: 2001
Screens was one of the first Amiga specific PPC operating systems' to gain mass attention. Despite promising reports a few months ago, there has been very little news over the last few months. Read more.
TzimmOS TzimmOS
Availability: Never
TzimmOS was announced soon after the Amiga PowerUP boards went on sale. It has been three years since the web page was updated so it is likely that the OS ceased development/morphed into something else/was a practical joke. Read more.
