THE ONE is worth more than the Many

Over the last year of its life The One Amiga affected two magazines- Amiga Power and CU Amiga. During 1994, the magazine became a common enemy that Amiga Power could challenge and demonstrate their superiority. This was conducted through criticizing reviews and comparing the final scores to their own. This was used to demonstrate why readers were to trust Amiga Power over the other titles that were available. However, the post Amiga Power site, AP2 has revealed that the competition between the two was good natured. It complements the writers of The One Amiga on numerous occasions for their hard work and their ability to obtain the best demos before AP.

CU Amiga was influenced by The One through the incorporation of the magazine into its pages. This resulted in CU taking upon many of its character traits. Most notably the rumours page and tips section. The Games in View page lasted a few months until it became clear that the Amiga games market was not big enough to cover games in such a way. However, the Snip Tips section continued until the final issue of CU Amiga. At least some part of The One survived the mockery of Maverick.
