Where do I get a 680x0 processor from?
The demand for Motorola 68k processors has increased over the
last few months with the release of the PPC boards. They can be
bought from most Amiga and Apple Mac suppliers. However, if you
have difficulty finding them you can call Motorola and ask for the
processor. Unfortunately I cannot include the contact number, as
this will vary from country to country, try the phone book or
something.
When you have found them you will need to state the part number
shown below.
MC68040RC?? - The question marks (??) indicate the
clock speed, such as 25 for a 25Mhz. This is entirely up to you-
you can either have a 25 or 50MHz unit.
If you are after a 68060 processor the part number Is:
XC68060RC50 - This is for a 50MHz '060 processor. You
may be able to buy a 66MHz model by asking for a
XC68060RC66, however there is only a very small speed
increase.
