I have connected a hard drive but HDToolBox fails to recognise it. Are there any other utilities that I can use to get the drive recognised?

There are a number of programs available. The commercial Disksalv 4 is one of the best. It can be bought from a number of suppliers including Weird Science or Software Hut. Alternatively you could try it with the shareware version of DiskSalv 2 or the freeware program, RDPrep, available on Aminet.
