Many applications demand more chip ram than my A500 has. Is there anything that I can do?

All A500 owners have faced this problem- a chronic lack of chip memory. Your Amiga may have 16Mb of fast ram but without 2Mb Chip memory your system will not be at its optimum. The Amiga uses Chip ram to create the display and so many programs will not open, often complaining of a lack of memory. The only thing you can do to get this software to work is to upgrade the amount of chip ram to 2Mb. This can be done with the MegaChip chip ram upgrade, which can be found from many suppliers, such as Power Computing. Alternatively, you could buy an A1200 and reap the benefits of 2Mb chip ram, as well as the AGA chipset and easy upgrade to the PowerPC processor.
