There are several causes for the delays:

1. Original BoXeR design (today's is really BoXeR 2) was ISA only, and
required the AGA chipset. With the demise of Amiga and it's buyers over this
time (too many to mention!) it became apparent the reliance on chipsets was
not healthy. The decision to remove this requirement was made, essentially
scrapping BoXeR as it was then.

2. The new design began, using custom logic, PCI, SDRAM, PPC support, USB
etc.

3. Index Information ceased trading. Basically, our contracts with the
company required re-negotiating with Mick Tinker. The demise of Index also
added big delays whilst the unavoidable issues of company closure were dealt
with.

4. Gateway pushed funds into "Inside Out", shifting (unfortunately!)
development time from BoXeR to this project. We all know what happened next.

5. A new agreement with Anti-Gravity was negotiated which took time.

6. Finally we were in a position to concentrate on finishing BoXeR.

If we really knew there was no chance of BoXeR happening, do you think we
would have maintained involvement, time and money? It is not a game for us.
The current position is good. The work is very close and we have an aim to
demonstrate BoXeR to AmigActive as close to Christmas as possible.

We are not making promises, and I am through convincing or arguing about
vapour. The money and time we have spent is not vapour. It is very real. We
are more anxious than anyone to see BoXeR arrive.

I realise the importance of getting hardware out, but I also realise and
accept that if an alternative comes to market people have every right to buy
it. I would too! The point for me is that until such time BoXeR is just as
real an option as AmigaOne or anything else.
