CDTV Interactive Entertainment

CDTV box front CDTV box back

Retailer: Commodore International
Available: 1990

The CDTV was basically an A500 and integrated CD drive fitted into a set-top box. The standard bundle came with "A guide to CDTV," Lemmings and Hutchinsons Encyclopaedia. It featured 1Mb chip ram, an 880k disk drive, mouse controller, infra-red remote control, a Welcome CD + caddy, Workbench 1.3 and a black Amiga 96-key keyboard. A500 owners could trade their current systems in for a £200 discount, reducing the £699 price tag down to the more reasonable £499. Silica reduced the price further, in an attempt to sell their remaining stock, soon after the A4000 launch.
