DEC-ALPHA based Amiga

Developer: Quikpak
Year of Announcement: 1997

Towards the end of 1996 Quikpak entered the race to purchase the Amiga. Part of their strategy was to gain mindshare with the Amiga community through announcements of what they would do with the technology. The long-term plan of the company was to develop the AmigaOS into a high-end operating system for the Alpha processor. This would require a clean rewrite of the OS, most likely placing the company in a similar position to Be.
