As part of the Amiga Format article on the future of the Amiga in the February 1993 edition, they envisioned the company releasing a 32-bit console. This was remarkably close to the mark, pre-dating the CD32 announcement by a few months. The system specifications of the concept console were almost an accurate reflection of those found on the CD32. Both the CDC concept and the actual CD32 were based upon a '020 CPU, AGA chipset, and two megabytes Chip RAM as standard. This has resulted in many people viewing the CDC as a prototype CD32 design - a completely untrue rumour.

The expandability of the machine was a key issue at the time - they argued the machine should be modular allowing the connection of a floppy drive, keyboard or PCMCIA device according to the needs of the user. As standard the machine would be controlled using infra-red joypads, a development on the CDTV controller, portraying it as an high-class console. However, the expected price point of the machine differs considerably from that found on the CD32, ranging between £120-150.

The machine described on this page is the product of speculation and the desires by various Amiga magazines on what would make the perfect Amiga. In other words, THEY ARE PURE FICTION. They reveal a great deal on the state of the market at the time and the perceived needs of the Amiga consumer
